Library love
Aug. 23rd, 2003 01:16 amI have to say, I'm really learning how to work my library system, and I am loving it. Between having a branch right near my house, and the main Quincy branch right near my office, I'm just in heaven.
I finally picked up a book
kaasirpent recommended to me months ago that I thought I'd have to wait forever for, since I don't like buying new-to-me authors in hardbound, but there it was, waiting for me on the shelf on Thursday. I love that I can try new authors for absolutely free, and I was perusing their crafting section last night, and found they have quite a few knitting/crochet and stitching books. Definitely better to snag a pattern from a book there than to buy a book for one pattern.
And I've found thier online catalog. From the comfort of my own desk, I can look to see if they have books I want, renew the books I have, and request that books be sent to my library from all over the souh shore.
It may seem like a silly thing to get all excited about, but it's saving me gobs of money, and keeping me in reading material. I'm loving it. Especially the online renewals, since I am QUEEN of forgetting to return books.
