Long time, no post. I've had a pretty good couple of weeks, overall. Well, at the very least, a couple of good weekends, with reasonable weeks in between.

Two weekends ago, a new Circles vendor was in town. On Saturday, she taught a spinning class; all exotic fibers. I got to spin cashmere, qiviut, camel, a camel-silk blend, a cashmere-silk-angora bled, and I don't remember what else. It was excellent - a chance to try out some very expensive yummies, without going to the expense of hunting them all down and paying for each one.

The following day, D and I had planned to go back to Circles for the yarn showcase - a chance to see the new yarns and chat with the woman who makes it. D and I had brunch before heading over, and then went to Circles. Got to see a bunch of people and sit and knit and chat for hours, which was awesome.

Last week, I spent Tuesday-Thursday in Bangor. Excellent site, wonderful people, a great trip. For extra bonus points, I got to have dinner with [livejournal.com profile] bigmeanie and her husband on one of my free nights. Thursday night, after driving home, we had dinner with our friend J and L and their adorable 17 month daughter.

This past weekend, another knitting friend hosted a clothing, book and yarn swap at her house on Saturday. I brought a TON of the yarn I'd earmarked for purging and dumped it into the swap. I got to see quite a bit of it go home with happy new owners, and managed to avoid picking out any new yarn for myself at all. Overall, I think I might have managed a 25% or greater stash reduction, all in one fell swoop. Even better than that, I got to see almost all of my Circles friends that I've barely or not at all seen since the shop moved in August.

Sunday was a nice lazy day. Skipped church for wanting to rest my voice but got a lot of stuff done instead. Made some vinegar pig for dinner, and topped off the weekend by finally sitting down to watch The Aristocrats. Man, did I laugh myself stupid.

Had a small disappointment today, that I shall remain cryptic about, but I'm looking forward to my Dad taking Hannah for the weekend and having a weekend of chilling out with Mr. Wiley. We'd thought about trying to go away for the weekend, but the credit card bill of much unrestrained spending arrived and informed us that doing so would be rather a poor idea. I think we'll manage to find something to do to entertain ourselves.

Now, if only I could convince this god-forsaken cold to completely decamp, things would be downright peachy.
