Healthy cats too.
Apr. 8th, 2008 06:15 pmI'll confess, I am a bad pet owner. I never remeber (or botherwith) the whole preventative care part of owning a cat. In truth, if I am being completely honest, I only manage to remember that stuff for Hannah because school requires it, and I nearly never remember it for myself. So, it's not as if I'm discriminating against the pets, really.
But, we let Pya and Cosmo go outside. Where they could tangle with other cats, or worse. The more I thought about it, the more keeping them in compliance with the mandated rabies vaccinations made sense. But it's not as if you can take them in for just the rabies. Full exams, all the vaccines, all the tests, the whole works.
I signed them up for their torture sessions, and we all trekked over to the vet's office last week.
They were not happy. Widget was thrilled to get to tag along. I was blown away by the stitcker shock.
Since I didn't have their medical records, the vets were all tsk-tsking me for not having brought them in sooner. I was pretty sure that E and her stepmom were better cat owners than I am, so I wasn't exactly worried, but apparently I should have been *eyeroll*.
All tests came back that theyare, as I expected, entirely and perfectly fine. And I'm about $600 poorer.
Stupid animals.
