In the end, I decided all would be better if I spent this weekend at home and decompressed from my altogether stressball week and didn't risk getting stranded in NH with snow and an inability to get to the airport in time for my flight. Just as well, since I barely managed to finalize my plans for the trip before Friday at 6 PM.

First off, it looks like I am not going to Tacoma. When pressed all three of my bosses agreed there was little that I could effectively do there. As I told the boss I like the best, "Dude. If y'all work this list and decide that you really DO need someone to go, I'll go." So, it's a possibility, but an awfully remote one.

Last night, to ease into the weekend, I went and had good sushi and a big drink. Came home, goofed off, finished my book.

This morning, was up at 7:30 for a 9 am haircut. I'd about died when Leon suggested it, but with the rest of my day, I knew early was better. I discovered the best aspect of the 9 AM haircut when I found on street parking right in front of the salon, on Newbury St. (For non-Bostonians, that's one of the Holy Grails of Boston parking.) Given how easy it was, I think 9 AM may become my new favorite appointment time. Got all prettied up and headed out to JP where I had to pick up this month's meat. I'd not eaten yet, so when I had time to kill I had divine brunch at Centre St. Cafe, then got the meat.

Came home, freezered the foods, got my laundry started, goofed on the computer. Flipped laundry, took a blessed nap. I don't know if I actually slept, but lying down for 90 minutes was like bliss.

Gathered laundry, prepped for packing, got ready for my date with [livejournal.com profile] lorac. We went to a fabu restaurant in the South End called Rocca and had amazing food and big drinks, and then we went to see a very silly and funny play called Defending the Caveman. Goofy and silly, but really funny.

Now home and getting all packed up. Heading out for the 11 o'clock boat in the morning. Cross your fingers for me that the stupid wind doesn't mess with Logan too badly, 'kay?

Goodness.

My (kind-of) supervisor wandered into my office this morning and said to me, "So, I know you've said you don't mind international travel. Do you think you'd rather go to China or Brazil this summer, if those deals go through?"

Hmmmm. How about BOTH?

We're in agreement that co-worker R (who speaks Chinese) should definitely be the person to go to China if it happens, but it may be a big enough install that we can convince them that they need two techs, especially since R is still a junior member of the team. (Like we're all fancy and have designations like that. Hee.)

Brazil seems a wee bit intimidating, but might still be very interesting.

Either way, I told him that I would be more than happy to do either one, should they come to pass.
