Beauty

I went this morning with Dory and Lorac to see the special Jackie Kennedy exhibit at the JFK Library. It was amazing. It focused primarily on her fashion and clothes, as well as having a number of her personal papers on display. I don't think I ever realized how beautiful she was, or how young. She was only 31 years old when he took office. That is amazing to me, that someone so young could so epitomize her kind of gracious, intelligent beauty. It magnifies the tragedy of JFK's assassination to me, as well; that she was widowed so young. I didn't realize, either, how much she changed at the White House, or at least, how much of the changes they seemed to entirely give her credit for. I think I'm just in awe. She was amazing.

So

I'm working on the endless series of pictures of Lil Miss Widget. This bunch is from today, when we went to the park to play on the swings.

And I'm looking at the pictures, and suddenly I am completely overcome by them. I don't know if it's her amazing beauty, the look of utter joy at swinging on her face, or something I can't even name. She brings tears to my eyes.

I am simply overcome.
