Martha comes in handy once again. She's "featuring" the random plants I swiped from my parents last month on her web site. And so I find that I have planted two Tradescantia 'Blue & Gold' (Spiderwort) plants. Woohoo!

I think that's about it. All very fresh looking, and the salad I had this afternoon was very very tasty. It was an interesting assortment, all in all. I think it's going to be a challenge finding things to do with all these random vegetables this summer, but I've made a firm commitment to myself to not just huck stuff or give it away. And I'm going to try very hard to not just let things rot in my fridge, either.
- A LOT of loose salad greens
- 2 heads of unidentified lettuce (we each took one)
- Some small white turnips, with their greens still attached (these are apparently a different variety than I usually see in the store that are big and purple)
- A big bunch of cilantro
- A small bunch of oregano
- A bunch of garlic scapes (which would be the flowering part that grows above ground while the bulb matures)
- A good deal of loose spinach
- A big bunch of broccoli rabe
