I wanted to jot down about today before I forgot, or ran out of time or whatever. Today was a perfectly lovely day.

Miss Pru and I both took the day off from work and headed up to the wilds of New Hampshire to go to a fabulous looking quilting store that she had found online. She needed to get the supplies for her new quilting project before travelling for the holidays and our trip to Quebec, and I tagged along because, well, I'll take any excuse to be around fabric and stuff. Plus, I love New Hampshire, and the store is right on Lake Winnipesaukee, which is beautiful.

It was about a two hour drive, and we got there about 12:30 or so. She needed lots of different fabrics, so we spent about 1 1/2 picking out just the right colors. While the ladies were cutting her fabric, we browsed around in the store and picked up a few other things as well. She bought me the cutest coolest pair of sewing scissors ever (They're cheetah print on the handles!) because she rocks. We got everything she'll need for this project except batting and backing, and heading back south.

We stopped in Tilton at the outlets very briefly. Looked in Coach for the hat Imagy wants so badly, but they didn't have it. Bought a couple of presents for peoples, and hit the road for home.

We headed into town to meet Ms. Lorac and Ms. Dory for dinner at Pho Pasteur and a play. After some confusion over exactly where we were supposed to actually meet for dinner, we found them and had dinner. The dinner was yummy, but odd. But also quite inexpensive (which was a bonus). I'd definitely eat there again though. The Play was a series of Christmas-themed comedy sketches, Spiked Eggnog. (Warning:Review has a few mild spoilers, don't read if you might go and you don't like spoilers!) If you're in the Boston area, and looking for something fun to do for an evening, I'd recommend the show - it's at the BCA until Dec. 21st.

While there were definitely some rough spots, some of it made me laugh harder than anything I've seen for a while. And, anything that features men in bad drag calling Ms. Dory a ho is well worth the price of admission. That full story... )

That ended earlier than I'd feared, and Ms. Shani and I hiked back to her car and back to her house. An uneventful drive home and a quiet end to a very lovely day.

Stupid Bridge

I suppose I should be greatful. According to Mike, the last time the bridge broke, it was up for three or four days instead of hours.
