One quick tale
Mar. 12th, 2003 11:30 pmI have SO MUCH STUFF to write about, and so little time to do it in. So instead, I'll leave you with a cute-Widget tale or three. (After all, really, am I capable of being anything but one of those horrible droning women who only talks about their kid(s)? But I digress.)
Widget has decided to try calling Wiley and I by our first names. This started the other night when while I was getting her ready for bed I hollered down the stairs, "Hey Wiley, can you bring up blah when you come up?" When she was dressed, she wandered over to the top of the stairs and started calling down "Hey Wiley, hey Wiley?" I caught her doing the same thing with Jenn the other day. Somehow, I thought this, at least, would wait until she was a teenager.
She's also beginning to have actual real conversations now - discussing, for example, what she wants to have for lunch tomorrow with Imagy, and asking for things. She's figured out the concept of expressing what she wants ("Want peanut butter jelly lunch") and is starting to grasp the basics of things that will happen in the future. It's rather amazing.
And, she's jumping whole hog on the "Do self" bandwagon - just about everything that needs doing, she wants to try for herself, and says it just like that, "Do self, Mommy!" Not that she can actually do any of it yet, mind you, but she sure is trying.
