Weekend recap
Oct. 13th, 2003 12:33 pmThis weekend just flew by.
Tried to get World Series tickets on Friday, but failed (you're not surprised). It's probably just as well, since even the bleacher seats are $65 each. I still would have paid it though, especially if the Cubs make it as well as the Sox.
Spent Saturday morning with Widget... rode the T into town to meet
lorac and
Daddy for lunch. She got restless on the train, so I started counting how many stops we had to get to where we were getting off. And ended up doing it over and over and over because it amused her. I'm guessing the folks sitting near us were less amused. Left Widget with Daddy after lunch and headed off for dress shopping with Lorac. She found a beautiful wedding dress that's now living in my closet until it's time for alterations. I found what I think will be my bridesmaid dress as well - I liked it a lot, and it looked lovely on. I was going to wait and see how little I could get before ordering it, but there's a chance it's going to be discontinued, so I'm leaning towards ordering it now, just to be safe. Still debating on that, though. I'd forgotten how exhausting wedding dress shopping is. Oooof.
Sunday, we were visited by a monsoon, so it was an inside kind of day. Slept in until stupidly late, ate breakfast, watched the Pats game, hit the gym, made chili for dinner (mmmmmm, chili). Spent a goodly chunk of last night working on around the house projects - trying to finish the office organization project, among other things. MUST.CLEAN.FRIDGE.TOMORROW. There's some month old leftovers in there. Eeeeeeew. Also, am ordering bookcases for the living room this week. Hopefully they won't take stupidly long to come in. I also should find out if the living room color I want is still available, so I know what color to paint the bookcases. I also must finish up the last of the great closet purge of '03, so there aren't random boxes of clothes in my bedroom.
Widget is in a stage of loving to laugh at everything, so our house was filled with 2 year old maniacal giggles all weekend. I love that. She's also on a kick now where she wants to read by herself - she sits on the floor and pulls book after book off her shelf, paging through each one, reading the one's she memorized aloud. On Sunday when she woke up from her nap, she asked to stay in her crib to read books, and she sat up there for 45 minutes all by herself while I cooked dinner and Daddy watched football. She's also mastered a true two-footed jump now, and she's still thrilled with herself at being able to do it. She jumps all around the house, accompanied by the crazy giggles because she's so pleased. She tries to jump everywhere too - this morning she decided to try jumping up the stairs. That was almost tragic, as she wouldn't have made it. She's turning into the most grown-up physically competent little girl.
If I can get Photoshop loaded on this computer, I'll have some new pictures to share today... mostly of Widget, from last weekend.
