Score one for me

I'm pleasantly surprised this week - I got a crappy parking ticket a few weeks ago when I was out playing with Carrie. Crappy because I paid the meter I thought was mine (parking space demarcation lines obscured by snow), but got a ticket because the meter reader thought I should have paid a different one.

I figured I had nothing to lose by appealing it, since it was so easily done on the city's website. Yesterday, I got a notice that they were going to dismiss the ticket! I totally didn't think that was going to work. Score!

Poor Widget, continued

We had another fight this afternoon, again, about putting her stuff away. ARGH.

ETA: She pulled the "you want me to do everything" act again. I stopped dead, looked at her, and said "Okay, you think you're doing everything? How about you reheat the chili, cook the rice, put MY lunchbox away, get(and sort and file) the mail all while entertaining me? Then after dinner, you can wash the dishes and run a load of towels through the wash. THEN, you'll be coming close to doing everything." Unsuprisingly, she declined my offer.

She got sent to her room until dinner, mostly because I was mad, and didn't want to deal with her anymore.

Poor bug, she fell asleep waiting for dinner to come, and would not be woken up when I went to get her. Since she's rather like me when she wakes up (you're better off sticking your hand in a bear trap) I decided to let her be. I'm thinking I'll leave her a note and a little snack on her bedside table in case she wakes up stupid early and starving. Daddy said he'd get up early and make her a good big breakfast tomorrow.
