Got here okay, despite a narrow connection in Dublin (what a cheerless drab bleah of an airport). The bonus of that was not having to deal with immigration / customs in Heathrow.

Got to the hotel, changed, went to the customer site. They truly had nothing for me to to do, so after chit-chatting for an hour or so, they sent me back here to sleep. I stopeed and got a sandwich, and now I am going to do just that - catch a couple of hours of sleep before Laura shows up to hang out.

Am so near Trafalgar Square, I can almost see it from my hotel window. And I got to make Widget go *Squeeee* when I told her that I drove past Buckingham Palace this morning.

I caught a good two hours of sleep. Woke up, checked mail and [livejournal.com profile] muffinslinger buzzed up to see if I was here. Quick change out of pjs and into street clothes and we were off.

We spent the next couple of hours roaming around Central London - we walked right around near my hotel (found the half price ticket stands, so I can see shows the rest of the week if I want to). We walked down to Big Ben and Westminster Abbey, then down to the river to ogle at the London Eye and Cleopatra's Needle and the waterfront. We stopped so I could have some coffee and rest the poor feets, then surprised ourselves by being right back near my hotel.

We found a Pizza Hut because she had a craving (pregnant ladies get what they want to eat) and I always love me some pizza hut. We ended up sitting in there for close to 2 hours, I think, just talking and catching up. It was so fun!

Of course, to make up for the good, I think I may have feet covered in blisters. I'm afraid to take off my socks to look.

Thanks for being a great tour guide, [livejournal.com profile] muffinslinger. It was great to see you!
