I'm back!

Got back at the crack of dawn on Saturday. I really should remember that as a person who doesn't SLEEP on planes, I shouldn't ever plan to be functional after taking a red eye. I mean, really.

Wiley and Widget picked me up at the airport and we all went out to breakfast, then when we came home, Widget watched the Powerpuff Girls dvd I'd gotten from Netflix while I totally slept through it all on the couch. Oooops. Between that and 10 hours of sleep on Saturday night, I'm almost back to normal.

Friday was a fun, relaxing day. I ended up not having to go to the site, so I instead got to spend a couple of hours at the Charles Schultz museum, which was lovely. So neat to see their collection of original strips, especially the really old ones that I have such childhood memories of reading, and so bittersweet to get a sense of just how many people Schultz touched in his life.

After that I headed back south to SF, where I managed to successfully find ArtFibers. What a yummy and delicious store that was. I managed to emerge with my credit card intact, which was a near thing, likely only because I remembered my suitcase limitations in time. I brought back a cone of gorgeous black silk / mohair for myself and a little tasty treat of something for my current swap pal.

After shopping, there wasn't much to do. Traffic was icky enough that I didn't want to pull my car out to try to drive elsewhere, and the weather was damp and chilly, so I decided that I'd just head for the airport, even if it meant I'd be there stupid early. So I did, and I was, but I had my knitting and a good book, and it was fine.

And on my flight home, I learned a funny thing. Flying a red eye on an airline that had DirectTV into the seat backs is not so useful... since 95% of the channels go into infomercial hell soon after you depart. Hee.
