Today, as she was working on her vocab homework* she had to define the word nun. She looked it up... "woman devoted to religious life". Oh, she says. "I always thought they were something kind of like ninjas".
Bwahahahahahahaha!
* And a homework related rant... kiddo is in the crazy good spellinggroup in her class - her teacher told me when I went in for parent - teacher conference that she has had to go to the high school vocabulary books to get spelling words for these three girls. So how is it that when all the OTHER groups just got review work for holiday break - a second chance to learn the words they missed over the fall, Widget's group got three pages of new homonyms to learn, which so far has been three sheets of written out definitions, and likely another three pages of sentences to come? Seriously, I did not want to have to do this much homework nagging over school break.
