Conversations with Hannah
Oct. 19th, 2010 03:15 pmYesterday: Mom, can we do laundry tonight? I need my leotard for dance tomorrow!
Of course. So, last night, I hand her the basket, tell her to get all her stuff into it, and her Dad will take it down and run it through the machine. She loads up the basket, Wiley takes it down and putsit through, brings it back upstairs this morning. I drop it back in her room and tell her to get dressed and get her dance stuff together.
Two minutes later, she comes in yelling that she can't find her dance stuff in the basket. I respond (like mothers everywhere) that if she'd put the clothes in the basket last night, they're in there now. She INSISTS she put them in and they are NOT there now. So I go look for them. And they aren't there.
"Hannah, are you SURE you put them into your hamper and into the basket?" Of course she is.
Except, of course, not.
Guess who's wearing dirty clothes to dance class today?
