Stash Bash
Feb. 8th, 2004 12:35 amOne of my local knitting stores did a very cool thing this evening. She called it the "Stash Bash", and invited all her customers to bring in unwanted pieces of stash, and swap around with what other people had brought. At the end, anything that didn't get taken was to be donated to charity (people knitting for charity, and to places like the YMCA, which runs classes, and always need supplies for them).
It was awesome. I got rid of some yarn I hated (that was instantly snatched up by someone else who had been searching for it), and came home with about 10 oddballs of all different sorts. We all hung out snacking and chatting and kntting and pawing through the stash stacks. It was great fun, and I came home with great new stuff for free. Woot.
