Darn literal toddlers
Feb. 13th, 2004 05:09 pmThis afternoon, Widget and I went to have lunch with
Ms. Shani. Because she was so busy, we elected to get takeout and eat in the office. In the kitchen at my office, are bwosl with candy in them. Specifically, little hard candies (a 2 year old no-no) and lollipops bigger than her head.
Of course, she knows what's in the bowls, so she asks to have some candy. Wanting to give her neither the hard candies nor the ginormous lollipops, I tell her that I think that there's a lollipop "with her name on it" at home. She immediately siezed on this turn of phrase, and says "With my name on it? It says HANNAH?" And then all the way home, talking and talking about the lollipop that says Hannah.
*SIGH*
So, yes, when we got home, I had to find a way to make a lollipop say Hannah before I ould give it to her. Sheesh.

Sigh,... when are us grown-ups going to learn to watch what we say! This must be part of the training - our training!
