You're too young for coffee!

This morning, Imagy and I were in the kitchen with Miss Widget. She crawled off into the living room, and we followed a minute or so later, to find her standing by the coffee table, very delicately dipping her little finger into Imagy's coffee cup and slurping the coffee off. Is it just me, or does she seem a little young for a coffee habit?

When *I* was 6, my dad would give me a cup of lukewarm coffee and a handful of sugar cubes, and I would drink it before school. He also plied me with lots of coffee candy. I LOVE coffee, and always have, I love the taste, I love the smell, I don't even drink it for the caffeine anymore.

How awful. I don't understand that. I especially don't understand the parents who won't let their kids drink coffee, but will let them drink gallons of Coke and Pepsi.

The most amazing thing about it was how delicately she was doing it. Just the one finger... *dip*, sucksucksuck, and repeat. No picking up the cup, no spilling. It was as if she knew it was either too hot (which it was) or that it deserved to be savoured.

Meanwhile I'm allergic to coffee.

This used to be a major problem for me, as it was something that developed recently, but now I don't think I'm missing out on much. I even make a friend of mine use breath freshener after every pot of coffee if he insists on cuddling up to me.
