This week's geocaching trip was MUCH more successful! We dragged my Dad and brother along with us, since they both like hiking and we were looking for something to do.
We found both the caches we set out to find last week, at a cost of much lost blood on my part. Between the brambles, the green-heads and the mosquitos, I had, quite literally, blood dripping down my legs. Yuck.
The first cache was not quite where I expected it, but after I remembered the the crucial hint of "leaning against a tree" we had much better luck in finding it.
scirocco gets full credit for finding this one. We left a lego guy and got an awesome bobbing headalien keychain fob.
Then, luck was with us and the tide was low enough to cross the falls and we headed down to find the second cache. This one WAS right where thought it would be after we had looked at the pictures last week. We made my brother go scrambling down the slope and he tracked it down. Brought it up, and we signed the log. There was an awesome Pez dispenser in this cache, but we had nothing to trade for it. Since we walk right past this one frequently, the next time Wiley heads out there for a hike, I'll make him bring something cool to swap for it.
This is a much more fun game when you actually find the things that you're looking for.
