The wedding shower yesterday was just as wonderful as I expected it to be. It was great to see Ms. Elaine, and everyone there was very friendly and so it wasn't too bad knowing no one there besides the happy couple. They got a truckload of presents and were surrounded by so many people who love them and were happy for the,. It was wonderful. Now I'm debating trying to get together with Ms. Elaine on Friday before zipping off for my stitching weekend. (On the plus side: I haven't seen her one on one since she moved, we've been making "plans" that whole time and it's never happened, after this week she's busy until the wedding. On the bad side: I should probably spend extra time with Hannah on Friday since I won't see her all weekend, it would make for a buttload of driving, and I'm already going to be running around like a beheaded chicken trying to get all my shit together for the weekend.) I think not going is winning. *sigh*
The drive out and back was spiffy - out was super quick, back not quite so, but I spent most of the time working on my needlepoint santa or reading my book, so it was nice and relaxing for me. I think Wiley had fun, since he was, after all, driving. We got out there early, and we spent a little while driving around so as to not show up rusely early. It seemed like a nice area. I just looked the town up on realtor.com. I should just stop doing that. It always just depresses me. In fact, I think realtor.com should just be blocked from this computer completely.
There were other babies there yesterday; I felt a little silly for having left Miss Widget at home, but she would have really hated the long car ride out there and back, so I couldn't really make her do that. It just seemed like it wouldn't be any fun for her. And I had a better time not having the chase her around all afternoon - especially since the folks who were hosting had a pool, and she would have been beelining for that constantly. Miss Widget was happy to see us when we got home, but had a fun time with
hoo and
gala. Thanks again for babysitting, guys!
