The baby finally realized that she WAS taking a nap this afternnon. Once she fell asleep, she stayed that way for nearly 2 1/2 hours (See, I told you that you neded a nap, silly baby). My mouth no longer feels like it has been garden weaseled, and it's just a little sore in a few spots.
While she slept I made some headway on cleaning, and planned out my menu. Thanks, everyone, for all the help and suggestions. I've settled on Curried Apple soup, Mushroom Polenta pie, tossed salad, and
lorac is bringing dessert. My shopping list is all compiled for Sunday afternoon. The living room and dining room are clean. I even used some of my cleaning time to *really* clean instead of just straightening up. The kitchen is halfway there, but since it'll get all messed up while I prepare everything on Sunday, that's okay. I'll finish cleaning in on Sunday. Bathroom is nice and clean, will just need a sweep out on Sunday afternoon. Tomorrow morning, we pack Miss Widget up for her overnight at Sandy and Ina's, then we head out to Northampton for an evening of dinner, drinking and debauchery. And staying over, so we can either play more or get to bed earlier, and sleep later. This is good. At least now I feel a little more in control of my weekend
Today when I was bringing Miss Widget downstairs from her naps, I slipped on the stairs, at the curve in the bottom. Since I was carrying her, I was more concerned with not hurting her than catching myself. As a result, I landed in a bad way on my wrist, which hurt like a bitch for a while, but has eased up since. Now my upper arms and chest muscles are screaming; I think I strained them while trying to catch us. Hopefully, that will feel better in the morning.
Wiley made me a martini larger than my head tonight (damn the points), so I'm feeling nice and relaxed now. I think I'm going to go work on my project for a while, then head for bed. Night, folks.
