I'm going slightly mad!

It's 4:05 am, and we're 39% finished.

I had the stupidest thing happen on my flight today. We're sitting, waiting for take-off. And sitting, and sitting, and sitting.

Finally, the captain comes on the intercom to explain that there was a family of five who was supposed to be flying with us, but the Dad forgot his ID and wasn't allowed to board the plane. They decided that the rest of the family would board as planned and Dad woul catch up with them, having caught a later flight. Sounds like a good plan, right?

Except that then one of their kids decided, AFTER they had boarded the plane, that he was too scared to fly without his dad. And rather than just tell him to suck it up, they asked to get off the plane, and for some reason, the pilot agreed. So we all had to wait while they go off, and while their luggage was unloaded from the plane.

How stupid are these people, anyway?

It's 4:11, and we're 41% finished.

I feel like I should say something about people who forget their ID, but I will restrain myself. The way my karma works lately, that'd be the next Bad Airport Thing I do. Probably on a day where I get dropped off instead of parking so I have to get a cab, to go all the way home, to find it..and probably also on a day when I have a 9 am meeting on the other end of the plane.
