Yesterday Miss Widget and I hung out in the morning whle Daddy went to play Frisbee (after she slept until almost 10:00!). She wasn't fussy, but she was really hyper - running all over the place, yelling, hucking her toys around. When Wiley got home, zipped tothe stitching store for new fabric for the wedding sampler, since I decided that 32 count was just too small for Hardanger. I was hoping, too, that they would carry the floss that I wanted to use, but they don't seem too. I think I'm going to stick with what I bought for now... give it a little bit more work before I decide to do it over or not. Thought they closed at four, they closed at three. Zipped in right before they locked the door. Found my fabric, got out without buying anything else. Go me!

Thn Lorac came over. We had yummy dinner and vegged out. I did her French Knots for her (and showed her a better way to do them for next time), so her project is finished now. Finished hemstitching on the last sachet that I wanted for Christmas presents, so now all I have to do is sew them together, probably on the machine. (Does anyone know a good source for plain sachets? Like, the smelly stuff in a plain pouch kind of thing?). We stayed up way too late, and then I continued to stay up too late reading.

This morning, my Dad and brother came up to visit, and we all went for a hike in the Blue Hills. We picked the trail that goes directly to the summit, and thus is the most difficult, and I made it up without dying. This is a vast improvement. It was simply beautiful out - the cold crisp kind of day, with the leaves just beginning to turn their showy colors, that make me love living in New England so much. It was bright and clear, we could see the Boston skyline clearly, and way out into th harbor. We hiked back on an easier trail, visited the animals in the Trailside museum, then headed home for Widget's naptime. I fed everyone, idget napped (and so did my dad), while Wiley did yardwork and I puttered around. We were going to go to the lantern parade in JP this evening, but Widget slept a little too late, so we ended up going to Nino's for dinner instead. It was, nce again, yummy, and everyone had a good time.

Now I'm fighting with the wedding sampler, and I have a very bad feeling that it's going to be a huge nightmare piece for me - I've been stitching and ripping out the same first 30 satin stitches for the last two hours. The chart is hard to read, and I can't get my mind wrapped around the counts for it. It's saving grace may be it's repetition, hopefully after I get a few more right, my brain will remember what I'm supposed to be doing, and it won't be so painful.

Now, I should get back to it, maybe make a little more headway than two ribbon twists before I pack it in for the night.
