This weekend we went out walking on the esker again. Every time I go out there, I come back a little more enchanted with it. Last fall I didn't got out there much; I'm expecting that will change this winter what with both my wanting to be more active and go out walking, and Miss Widget wanting to "go walk" all the darn time.

One of the things I really liked about being up there now is that with the trees bare, you can see the river almost the whole time you're walking and it's evem more relaxing to me like that. Sure, you can see the houses more clearly too, but that's easy to avoid. I've got some pictures that Wiley took of a few of the small parts of the park, but I think I'd like to take the camera out there too, capture some pictures of the park in all its season.

I put some of the pics up on my website tonight, but it needs a little more tweaking ebfore I unveil it to the world, I think.

I keep reading about this "esker". So I looked up "esker" in the dictionary. Webster's 9th Collegiate says it is a "a long narrow ridge or mound of sand, gravel, and boulders deposited by a stream flowing on, within, or beneath a stagnant glacier." I didn't know there were glaciers in Massachusetts?
still scratching my head
