I wish I were a tomboy

Then I wouldn't go nuts trying to figure out what to wear. Do I wear tyhe long sleeve black velvet, do I wear the sleeveless long red thingie with pants? The dress is warmer, and more sedate. The red is gorgeous, but chilly, and I've worn it a million times. I can wear my gorgeous red shoes with the red thingie. If I wear the black dress, can I wear the fabulous red shoes with it, even though I don't have a red purse to carry? Or should I be boring, and wear the beaded black slingbacks? Or, maybe the gorgeous gold strappy sandals with the way-too-high heels I bought to go with my New Year's dress, and the antique beaded bag I have? Gack! How far am I going to have to walk tonight, how much standing am I going to have to do? Without knowing that, how can I decide on a heel height?

ARGH. I wish I were a boy.

I have, like, three pair of shoes.

I have even fewer dresses.

Boy's dress clothes are much easier to work with. I mean, pick a shirt (any shirt), pick pants (any pants, really) and pick the black or brown shoes. And you're done.

I'm so envious.

I have one pair of shoes that I wear with any sort of dress - they're black felt maryjanes, and they cost $3 on clearance at TK Maxx. I bought them for a Halloween costume the year I went at Mary Katherine Gallagher. HA!

Your situation boggles me, Jenn. Absolutely boggles me. :)

See, this is why I wish I was a tomboy. Trouble is, I was raised a tomboy, so I don't have the innate knowledge of how this works like real girls do. But now I try to play at being a real girl, and it just stresses me out.

Add in that I'm going out with Dory, who makes me feel frumpy no matter how fabulous I look, and I just want to die.

for the record, I own at least 5 pairs of (just) evening shoes. At least. And four of them are strappy sandals.

Going out with Dory? Oh, I understand your stress then, my lovely. Accompanying Her Highness at a social event is ALWAYS stressful and frump-inducing!

But I guarantee you will look absolutely lovely! You are beeeyoooteeeful! :)

(If you were a tomboy, Dory would never take you out. TRUST ME ON THIS. *grin*)
