Stupid bridge

sierciaThe Fore River bridge is stuck. Stupid bridge.
It carries a whole lot of traffic between Weymouth Hingham (and points south) into Quicny and on towards Boston. My boss thinks it's about 30,000 cars a day, but there actual numbers don't matter much. This means, however, that I am now virtually trapped on my street. See, when the bridge is out, the only way to get over the Fore River is to go very far out of your way south through Weymouth, then back up through Quincy. And the street at the end of my street is one of two of the major streets that people can take to get there.
I tried to go get Imagy this morning at the train, and sat at the end of my street for five minutes, in which the traffic didn't even move. She's trying to get a bus to here now. So, no babysitter for the morning, most likely. And I probably won't be going into the office this afternoon, if the bridge isn't fixed by then. At least I know my boss understands - he lives on the OTHER main street, and is working from home today because he can't even get out of his driveway.
