*sigh*

I'm terribly torn. Tomorrow, we have to get up and out of the house by about 10:00 to make it to my grandparent's on time. If the snow arrives earlier, we should really leave by about 9:15 or 9:30. Given that Widget doesn't wake up until about 8:00 most days, and she's not yet so excited about Christmas morning that she'll wake at the crack of dawn to open presents, the timing is a logistical problem, since there will be presents to open, and breakfast to eat, and then herding an overexcited 20 month old into the car for a 2 hour drive.

Last night, Wiley suggested opening presents tonight instead of in the morning. I know it's the logical, smart thing to do, but I'm such a Christmas morning kind of a girl, it just feels so *wrong* somehow. But, I imagine that's what we'll do, just so we don't go completely insane tomorrow morning. Watch, we'll do it, and then Widget will decide to wake up at 6;30 tomorrow, just for kicks.

My family is doing Christmas presents on Christmas eve because of the approaching snow storm that has my mother concerned for our safety.

Keep one or two small presents for Widget to open on Christmas morning, preferably one that will keep her busy in a car, that way if she does wake up early, it's all taken care of.

And if she doesn't wake up early, and you used somewhat generic (non Christmas) wrapping paper, you can just save the gift for her birthday. (Sorry, borrowed a page from my mother's book there)
