So, I'm working on this wedding sampler for my friends Elaine and Brian, and it's making me insane!
Last night, I finally had a whole night of not having to frog and redo my stitches seventeen times, and I was finally feeling good about the project when I realized that the floss looked to be a different color in the section I had just finished. Which is decidedly weird, since, it's all from the same skein. I showed it to
scirocco last night and
lorac this evening, and they both saw it right away. As best Lorac and I could guess, it is simply catching the light differently when there's different amounts of the floss in one place (previous sections were one row of stitchers, the new is two). If that's the case, I'm not sure what I should do - if I should find (yet another) type of floss to use, or just suck it up.
I've got such a mental block about this pattern - I haven't even hit the truly difficult portions and I'm constantly messing it up. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm going to go crazy before it's done.
If this wasn't promised to someone incredibly special, it wouldn't stand a chance of getting finished this millennium.
