Help me please, I beg you
Jan. 6th, 2003 12:06 amI recently got a Dell laptop from work (Hence the prolific posting lately - it's much more fun to do it from my couch), and there's only one thing wrong with it.
The touchpad was configured to "click" if you tap it, and alas, my typing style has me tapping it all the time. I'm learning to keep my thiumbs out of the way, it's slowing down my typing. I've looked everywhere for a place to disable this, and I can't find it.
Anyone know how/where I turn off this fee-chur?

Date: 2003-01-07 12:28 pm (UTC)It looks like Dell's drivers may be required before you can turn that off. I used to have exactly the same problem with an NEC.
From the Dell community forum:
"You need to look on the Touchpad or Touch tab, depending on what system you have. If you do not see a tab by that name, then you do not have the Touchpad drivers installed. You can disable the Tap to click function. You cannot specifically turn off the buttons, either below or above the Touchpad. With the Alps Touchpad driver, the buttons are disabled if you disable the Touchpad, but all buttons remain active if you disable the Pointing Stick."
