50 books first post

sierciaFound this group yesterday, and it sounds like so much fun. I'm very much hoping that I can manage to make it to 50. With work, my daughter, and my other hobbies, I'm not sure I will.
So far, this year, I think I've only read two books:
1. Simple Cooking by John Thorne - a combination cookbook and collection of food essays. I loved it; it made me feel all fired up to head into the kitchen and experiment.
2. The Corrections by Jonathan Frantzen - I'm still not sure how I feel about this one. I found it tough to get through, and I hated most of the characters. But at the end, I realized I'd enjoyed it, and was very glad I'd read it.
Currently, I'm trying to get through Fast Food Nation, which is pissing me off, and One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
