This year's to-do this
Feb. 24th, 2003 08:55 pmI mentioned last week sometime that I was going to try and post a list of all the things I would like to have finished or accomplished by the end of this year. It's a rather daunting list, when I think about it. Here we are, group by type of activity, and ordered roughly by priority within each category.
Crafting
- Finish Elaine and Brian's wedding sampler (I'd say I'm 1/4-1/3 finished now)
- Finish Widget's last year ornament, and find and complete this year's
- Finish Le Printemps (barely started)
- Complete at least one more knitting project - either scarf or chunky hat for myself (unstarted)
- Another stitching retreat weekend
- Paint the outside of the house (this really needs doing - the paint is peeling badly. At least we only have to do the front)
- Paint the living and dining rooms (I'm real sick of sea foam green)
- Put in patio and planters by the back deck, for grilling and flowers
- Paint and decorate Widget's room
- Really plan out and fully plant the border bed at the front of the house (requires, well, planning and purchasing more plants, and getting them planted)
- Have a vegetable garden of at least the same size as this year, perhaps larger
- Start some of the plants for the vegetable garden from seed (really not likely to happen)
- Plan out a way to have the vegetable garden be a three season garden instead of a high-summer garden (requires researching seasonality of varieties, probable willingness to start from seeds as pre-started early and late season plants are somewhat uncommon around here, and carving out more garden space, since my plot is currently so small)
- Get the front lawn reseeded and made nice
- Read at least 50 books (so far, I'm on book three)
- Figure out if I'm ever going to be able to go to grad school and how (hahahaha)
- Get out to visit Kate in New Mexico
- Secret ninja project for our anniversary
