one last thing
Mar. 30th, 2003 11:23 pmI bought a copy of the novel The Hours on Friday, figuring I needed something beside 100 Years... to read on the plane. I started it on Saturday on the train going to meet Lorac. I think it's going to break me worse than the movie, so I think I shan't be able to read it on the plane. I don't need to be the weird crying woman in 27D, thanks.
I think it's because the novel is already giving us so much more access into the internal lives of the three women. That kind of imtimate access, combined with knowing how th crux of the story comes out fills me with this sense of impending doom, and deep deep sorrow. I'm only on page 60 or something, and I've never seen an author get it so right
Why do I keep reading stuff like this?
