So, yesterday wasn't bad. As expected, since we'd actually solved the servr problem the night before, there wasn't much for me to do at the paper (remember, though that because when I'd changed my flight, the server wasn't fixed, I'd re-booked for the latest flight possible, just in case. This is important at the end of the story.) Sat with the photo guys for the first part of the morning. Let them beat me up over the scheduling stuff. This was expected, indeed, it's become like a little part of my routine. I hate Trax.

Went to find the newsroom guy that I needed to sit down with, and got asked out to lunch. He and I, another newsroom guy, and the tech/trainer for the new production system they were putting in. She was as nice and cool as she seemed from the earlier e-mail contact we'd had. Had a nice lunch too, yummy BBQ. Came back to the paper, went over the new system with the newsroom guys. They loved the system, and were looking forward to rolling it out to their guys. Yay!

We wrapped up just late enough that I didn't think I'd make it to the airport to try and go standby on the earlier flight out of dodge, so I decided to toddle around a bit. I'd seen a yarn store on some of my excursions out finding food, and I decided to check it out. The folks there were absolutely friendly, and even though I'd walked in not planning to buy anything, I walked out with everything I needed for a new project. A cute little felted bag, knitted in the round. Since both felting and knitting on circular needles are things I wanted to try, I'm very excited.

Headed for the airport, got there just late enough to not make the 4:30 (which I'll regret later) and wander around. Find the "Business Center" which is a very nice, seperate lounge area, with desks, and plugs and all kinds of nice stuff. Settle in, do my expense report like a good do-bee, get a sandwich for the flight, and get on my plane. Get to Charlotte, confirm my new gate number, and start hoofing the ten thousand miles to my new gate (Sure, I exagerate, but it was a LONG wlak with a heavy laptop bag). Stop and get coffee, see that the one store sells Moravian Lemon cookies, and decide to try and seek out the Moravian Spice cookes that I love, and can't really find up here. Find Moravian Spice cookies, in a big giant tube, and buy them, feeling all smug, then notice on a flight screen that my flight, which previously listed as being on time, was not showing "departing 11:50 (or, 7 minutes before we were supposed to be landing, folks)". Go to the gate, get some completely bullshit non-explanation of why we're now delayed two hours, and commence to sitting, and jawing with Carrie on the phone. Miraculously, she agreed to come get me still, even though I wasn't getting in now until nearly 2:00. After an second largely uneventful flight, make it home, meet Carrie, get the car, get home and collapse.

Oooooof, what a week.

Hey! You missed the "Talk with half-unconscious Wiley for an hour after getting home."
