While I'm here, another Widget story

One of Widget's newest "skills" is story telling. Not just recounting her day, or talking about "real" things, she's started making shit up.

Some of it is wacky shit.

Last weekend, we were talking while she ate dinner, and all of a sudden she comes out with "I have a sister and a brother." I looked at her, and said "You do? An emphatic nod of her head, "Yes." "Oh" say I, "Does your momy know that?" Another nod. "Yes. I have a sister and a brother, and a mommy and a daddy, and we all live in our new house that is a dumptruck." Further questioning devolved into gibberish, so I couldn't get any further details.

And the gibberish? It's cute, most of the time. If you ask her a question that she doesn't know the answer to, or doesn't want to answer, she makes up gibberish as an answer.

Alex does the gibberish thing, too. He has an "are you buying this?" look to go along with it. =)

Oh yeah, we get that same look. She kind of looks out of the sides of her eyes, with a little grin on her face. Very cute.

bridget got into the word "sister" after getting into all three lilo and stitch toys: lilo, stitch, and "lilo's sister". then it occurred to me that even though she kept calling the sister "sister" that she might not actually know what the word meant. i asked bridget if SHE had a sister and she said, "NO! i have a MOMMY!"
