Mommy mistakes
Aug. 7th, 2003 11:56 pmSo, this evening, I decided to stop by the grocery store on my way home to pick up fixings for dinner. I had Miss Widget with me, since Wiley was off cavorting this evening.
In a fit of brain seizure, when Widget decided she didn't wwant to go in the carriage, I allowed as how she could "walk self" in the grocery store. We'll blame it on mental befoggment.
Dear lord in heaven, WHAT was I thinking?
It was a tsunami of pent up energy and destruction from about five minutes in. Touching everything, running around blind corners, refusing to hold my hand, or to wait for me. Oh, and don't forget the looks from everyone else in the store, you know, the "Geez lady, can't you control your kid?" looks.
I think she's going to ride in the cart until she's 12, after this.

I dunno *what* happened to my brain last night.

Except that the store only has about THREE of the damn things, so it's an amazing stroke of luck to get one, complete with the mads when we can't. AND thenm, they're miserable to steer in the store, because they're at least 50% bigger than a standard cart.
