Aaaaaand....
Aug. 8th, 2003 04:47 pmtoday, I almost ate a slug
Did you know that slugs like tomatoes? I dodn't, until today.
Zipped outside while Widget was eating her lunch to grab the ripe ones (I'm getting1-2 a day right now). It was raining, so I was in a bit of a hurry. One of my bushes is producing these delightful pear shaped, bite size tomatoes, and I'm in the habit of popping a few in my mouth as I harvest. Most of them crack a little as they come ripe, just a little.
Today, there was a slug hiding out in one of those cracks, in a fruit that had been pretty much on the ground. I noticed him as I was raisingthe tomato to my lips. Ech.
