Bittersweet

My favorite part of any day with Widget is putting her to bed. We read a story, she drinks a little bit of milk, we cuddle, and we talk about her day, say good night to Piglet, and she goes in her crib. I especially like asking her about her day - most of the time these days, she can hold a conversation about what she did with Imagy, what she had for meals, if she had fun, that sort of thing. I just love it. It's the perfect way to end a hectic day. (Heck, I like it so much, I've been known to go get her out of her crib if I miss bedtime by getting home late.)

But, because I think it's important that she make choices for herself, most nights we let her decide whether she wants mommy or daddy to read. Most of the time she wants me. It makes me a little sad the nights she chooses Wiley.

Silly, no?

Think of it as giving Wiley the gift of story-time with Widget and not like you're being somehow deprived of it. :)

Not silly.
Punkin prefers me most days, to almost anyone except my mother-in-law (can we say spoiling? *heh*)
I go back and forth between being sad that she sometimes clings to me when her father tries to take her, and being a little jealous when she goes to him willingly. *heh*
