I took Vogue Knitting out of the library a month or two ago. I just realized that when I check my library account online, it doesn't show up on the list of books I've taken out. Somehow, they've screwed up. Nice to know I can keep it as long as I want. It's tempting to keep it - it's a $30 dollar book.

But who am I kidding, I'd feel guilty everytime I pulled it out to use. Sigh. Sometimes it stinks having a conscience.

I lifted the complete works of Gwen Bristow from the B******* Public L****** when I worked there. If things hadn't circulated in 3 years, they were supposed to be deaccessioned. I worked in YA, so adult fiction definitely wasn't my balliwick, but when I discovered they hadn't circulated in ten years, out they went. Neatly deaccessioned and out over the detectors in the librarian's bag.
