Nov. 7th, 2003 09:38 pmLet's see, today...
Today was good. First, Widget slept past 8 am. *sound of angels singing on high*. The weather was gorgeous. Widget and I headed out to rake leaves in the backyard (Reason #627 to enjoy a toddler over an infant - they can participate in household chores. Even when they're almost more hindrance than help, they're miles better than babies.) Widget LOVED it. We raked, we had leaf fights, we rolled around the yard. In the end, I've got 4 yard waste bags already gathered, and a bunch more raking to do tomorrow.
We went to the playground, and Widget kind of played with another little boy, at least for a little while. We went grocery shopping, and I squished her fingers between the cart (damn truck carts) and a produce bin. When we came home, she "helped" put away the groceries, and we raked leaves some more. She crashed out for a long nap, and I made the yummy Shrimp with orzo and feta casserole for dinner, along with a baked acorn squash. (I thought I didn't like those. turns out they're not so bad as I thought. Who knew?) Widget also helped empty the dishwasher, too. She's so cute when she helps.
Then we played and played and played. Wiley somehow slithered out of giving Widget a bath, and we played some more. The best was definitely when we stacked up, Wiley on the floor, me on him, and Widget on my back. Crazy fun, I tell you.
Widget also pooped in the potty for the first time today! Usually she only poops when she's asleep, so it's been hard to train her on that. When she does poop when she's awake, she freaks out. Today, she started the freak out, and we boogied upstairs, just in time. Score.
And to top of the good day, Wiley just fell asleep for 45 minutes with his head on my lap. Awwwww.
