My god, it's like Christmas!
Dec. 14th, 2003 06:35 pmWe finally ordered the bookcases I've wanted since we moved in to my house. They were finally ready three weeks ago. We took advantage of Widget's absence this weekend to paint them. We've moved them into their spots in the living room. Later tonight after the paint dries a little bit more, I'll be filling them. Pulling all these boxes of books out of the closet and opening them up and seeing titles that I loved is wonderful. It's like a Christmas present all in itself. I'd thought I would go through and cull books from the collection with a steely heart this time, since even with the two new bookcases, there won't be room for them all. I'm not sure I can do it now. Even books I doubt I'd ever actually read again are bringing back memories of why I own them (Mostly college classes; I averaged 6-7 books per history class at least, and I took a lot of history classes), and I'm not sure I'm ready to let go of them yet.
I'm so excited!
