Like I said, ironic wasn't quite the right word... Still can't think of quite the right one. Maybe just "appropriate".

Trust me, doing pretty much everything I can to make sure she does. And hell, I'd probably happily smuggle her to Canada if that's what I had to do, were it ever to become an issue.

Ditto. I think people make the mistake of thinking that pro-choice is in favour of having an abortion if everything isn't perfect, and you weren't planning to have the kid, which couldn't be further from the truth. Personally, I think that if materially and emotionally, you're in a good place to have a kid, then in most cases, you should have the kid.

Of course, with my issues with fertility, probably not a choice I'll have to make, so who am I to judge?

That's absolutely true. I'm going to write more about this later, but everything certainly wasn't perfect when I chose to have Widget. But I still got to make that choice.

I think the most poignant and powerful "single shot" I've ever seen around the abortion issue was a obviously pregnant woman counterprotesting at Planned Parenthood wearing a shirt that said "pregnant by choice" on it.

I agree with a previous comment, appropriate is a good word.

Everything was not perfect with Punkin. She wasn't planned, we didn't (and still don't) have a lot of money, and there were lots of complications and health issues. Still are.

But we made the CHOICE.
