So tired

I have no energy to do anything, and there's a million things to do. And my fucking house smells like cat pee again (still?), despite Wiley cleaning the floor last night. I am fast approaching the "the cats go or I go" state with these beasties. I could put up with their chaos when there was no baby chaos, but the combination is driving my out of my mind. Yes, I have even reached the point where I could be the cruel heartless bitch who drops them at the pound. That's how tired I am of them.

Please sweep under desk every day after eating sesame bagel at desk.

Y'all don't even want to KNOW how many sesame seeds I just swept up. Ick.

I hate uncertainty.

In theory, my father is staying here tonight, so as to spend the day tomorrow with Widget. I'm not 100% sure he's still coming, and if he is, I have no idea when he's getting here, if he's going to want dinner, or what he wants to do tonight or tomorrow.

We were supposed to host Lag Day this weekend, and a stunningly poor turnout prompted us to dial back the activities to just do something tomorrow, and maybe Sunday morning. At least one person didn't get the e-mail, and is coming tonight. I don't know how many others might not have gotten the mail, and so I might have 8 or 10 people here tonight, or there might be no one. Well, that's not true. My favorite [livejournal.com profile] lorac is coming to visit, and bringing her boy. And maybe bringing Ms. Dory. And, so you can see, we're back to the uncertainty, and I'm quietly going out of my head. Sigh.

I'm really disappointed about Lag Day. I thought it would be cool, then pretty much all the people who said they would come and help boost attendance just kind of fizzled out. Most of them had good reasons, but I'm still bummed out about it. What a waste. At least dilettante is still going to come and teach me how to make Vietnamese (I think) spring rolls, since the restaurant near me that made them has gone out of business. I adore them, and now I'll be able to make them for myself!

And thankfully, Widget seems to be back to her usual sunny disposition. I don't think we've had a single temper tantrum today. We'll have to see if that lasts through vegetables at dinnertime, which it almost never does. She's been quite the good girl today actually. I moved her toy box into a room she can get to, and put all her toys in it. She had a great time pulling all of them back out, until she reached very far in for one, and tipped over, right into the box, face first. She hasn't gone near it since. Oh, actually, she's JUST gone back to digging in it. Let's hope that this time she does a slightly better job of balancing.

There was no dinner tantrum. My Dad showed up and we ordered Indian food, which was yummy. Widget seemed to like the chicken tikka masala that I gave her, and she grooved on the naan as well. Only [livejournal.com profile] lorac and William and rainy showed up, so it was a quiet and restful evening as well. I got to play super puzzle fighter, which I love - and even my dad played it for a while (He was even *good* at it).

Solved a problems for a co-worker who was an hour away from his computer and couldn't do it himself. It only took 20 minutes out of my evening, and saved his butt, so that was good thing. If nothing else, it makes up for my having been snappish with him earlier in the week

In other news, I only have one butterfly left, and I'll be done with the "companion" piece for Widget's birth sampler. I customized the birth sampler - did it on lavender cloth, with bright bold colors instead of the pastels shown in the model, and I think they'll go very nicely together in matching frames in her room, especially if I can ever get to whitewashing her room and doing it in the color scheme I think I want. I've been surprised how fast my stitching projects have been going lately, but I think I've concluded that the reason is simply that I spend more time at home in the evenings these days, and I'd rather stitch than do housework... so I end up stitching.

Well, I should go get the sheets for rainy's bed, and then head off to bed myself. Night.
