Anyone here know anything about how one might go about getting tested for ADD?
I'm very much starting to wonder if I have it - I've never had great powers of concentration, but it's gotten even worse in the past few years, and I'm getting to a point where I get distracted, even when I'm doing things I enjoy. If it were just happening with work-y things, or other must-do's, I would write it off as just not wanting to work. But it's gotten so I wander off in the middle of reading (unless it's a really good book); in the middle of writing; and constantly when I'm doing "work". About the only thing I can consistently do for long stretches is stitch, and even then, I get distracted from that if the tv's not on. I'm having trouble focussing even when there's external pressure on me to finish something (like from my boss), or when *I* really want to finish something, because I want to go do something else.
I've taken a couple of self assessment tests, and they seem to indicate that I may have the tendency toward ADD. Now, I need to know where to go from here. I've got to do something, this is getting to the point where I'm starting to feel non-functional.

The haircut!
Sep. 10th, 2002 10:32 pmI went and got my hair cut today. It started as my wanting to get all the damaged stuff cut off before I tried to dye it at home. It ended up being something a little more drastic once I get there. But I love it. I had my hair this length for a while before I got pregnant and adored it. I think this is a better cut for my face/hair, and I am pleased as punch.
( Here there be pictures )
I loved the stylist too, which was pretty lucky since I called up a salon I used to go to, and asked for their first appointment. I went in and said "shoulder length, maybe some long layers?" and he fluffed my hair out and said "Aaah, I think I know what to do!" then outlined his thoughts and how he thought it would lay once cut, he was willing to recommend product to me (I'm not sure what was with my previous stylist... even when I'd directly ask for a suggestion, she'd just say "Aaaah, they're all the same"), and took the time to show me what he was doing to style my hair, so if I want to try blowing it out, I'll have a better idea of how to do it. He suggested starting coloring my hair, and kind of outlined what he thought would look good and work with my natural color, and my gray hair. So, perhaps I'll have to find the money in the budget to try that again, depending on how things go tomorrow. I'll definitely be going back.
