Okay, I've finally finished books #3 & 4, and hopefully will start moving through these a little faster.

#3 Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl - I didn't like this one at all. read why. )

#4 We Are What We Ate, edited by Mark Winegardner - This is a collection of essays all themed around food memories, and the place food plays in our memories. It was a fun, quick read. I enjoy food writing anyway, so I was pre-disposed to like this. The essay format was excellent for my current pattern of only being able to read in small quick snatches of time instead of hour-long blocks, but I enjoyed this enough that I kept looking for snippets of time to read it. These days, that says a lot.

Up next are Hanging by a Thread, The Lovely Bones and Cherry. I've temporarily abandoned Fast Food Nation and 100 Years of Solitude in the interest of reading some books I actually like, and getting a little caught up on my reading.

1. What is your favorite type of literature to read (magazine, newspaper, novels, nonfiction, poetry, etc.)? Mystery novels. I know 95% of them are brain candy, but I love them.

2. What is your favorite novel?Breakfast at Tiffany's Truman Capote

3. Do you have a favorite poem? (Share it!) I know, I've posted it here before. since feeling is first by e.e. cummings the poem )

4. What is one thing you've always wanted to read, or wish you had more time to read? Anything. Seriously, I have so little free time, and so many hobbies that compete for it, I don't have nearly enough time to read anything.

5. What are you currently reading? Hanging by a Thread by Monica Ferris. Some of the most brain candy of the mystery novels that I like - they're all set in Minnesota, and the heroine sleuth owns her own needlework shop. They're silly, but entertaining.

I think I'm getting Widget's cold. This is particularly bad since the road trip from hell is coming up this week. Perhaps I should go Nyquil myself and go to bed. *sigh*
