and then I'll let you get back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Apparently, Widget decided that I was "up in an airplane" for my entire three day long business trip. When she and Daddy talked about where I was, she was all "Mama up in airplane", and when he told I was coming home, she asked "Mama come down from airplane?". How funny is that?

And then, this morning, she absolutely insisted on wearing a skirt. Insisted, even when I asked her twice if she was sure that was what she wanted. Silly girl. Doesn't she realize how hard it is to climb and stuff if she's wearing a skirt? Apparently not.

I guess she's going to go through a "girly-girl" stage despite efforts to the contrary. Silly girl.

Divine Secrets of the Ya-ya Sisterhood Rebecca Wells - This was a re-read for me, and it was interesting to read it from a new life perspective; the last time I read it, I was a daughter, but not yet a mother of a girl. Gave the book an entirely different feel, and I took very different things away from it this time. It is one of my favortie books, so if you haven't read it, I'd highly recommend picking it up.

The Number 1 Ladies' Detective Agency Alexander McCall Smith - This was charming. Set in Africa, it's the story of Precious Ramotswe who takes her inheritance from her father to open herr own detective agency. More about Precious and life in Africa than about any one particular mystery, I thought it was well written and entertaining. I'll almost certainly be looking for some of the sequels.

Now I'm reading Peace Like a River, and enjoying it very much so far.
