An excellent day

Today was a great day.

Wiley got up with the kiddo and so I got to sleep until 11... something. Woke up to an empty house, since he and Widget had gone out to collect the gear he needed for Rock Band night. He'd told me when they were leaving that lorac had called while I was sleeping, and was bored, so I called her when I got up. She wasn't up for any adventures, but I went over to her house to hang out with her and Miss Katie for the afternoon. Between the naughty toddler and the VERY naughty cat, I have not laughed so hard in quite a while. Katie was mostly low-grade naughty, while the cat was quite... spectacular in her terribleness. Particularly the insistence that she really really needed some of our coffee.

The logistics of Friday playdate were not in the stars, so I came home to reheat the pot roast I cooked yesterday and make the rest of dinner to go with it - roasted potatoes, roasted carrots and brocolli for little miss I-don't-like-cooked-carrots (don't worry mom, she still ate some of the carrots, but it's better for her to get a full veggie serving than for me to win on principle). It was DELICIOUS. I love winter food.

Now Widget's in bed, Wiley's off to run Rock Band and I have the house to myself. Aaaaah, bliss. Going to go play a little WiiFit and then try to finish up lorac's very late birthday present.
