Shabu in Quincy is just delicious.

Frost / Nixon was an.... interesting movie.

I finished [livejournal.com profile] lorac's birthday present on time, AND they fit.

Widget went to an "awesome" birthday party.

It feels like Sunday night instead of Saturday, and has felt like the wrong day all day.

Two late nights is making for one sleepy siercia

I'm almost looking forward to going back to work on Monday.

I expect that to last all the way until about... 9:15.

How were your Saturdays?

Well, Sunday night. Tomorrow we go back to the daily grind. I may be crazy, but I think I'm kind of looking forward to it.

It's been a log time since I took this much consecutive time of work - thinking back, it was probably my maternity leave with Ms. Widget. As much as I am dreading the shrill alarm clock in the morning, I'm also looking forward to getting a little structure back into our daily lives. Being the main source of entertainment for a 7 year old for 2 1/2 weeks is not so fun, as it turns out! And as nice as it has been sleeping in until 9 (or later) nearly every day, it's ony made me stay up WAY too late all the time, so I'm even more tired than normal.

But we had a pretty good ending up of our time off today - church (with a sermon that seems like it was interesting, but I was too zombied out to focus), lunch with Ms. Widget then an afternoon of playing with her friend Rhianna. Wiley bought her a Wii game all about owning a stable and taking care of your horses (a consolation prize for that horse that Santa couldn't fit down the chimney, I guess), and she wrapped up her day by getting started on that. She loves it (of course).

She was so jealous that I got to go to Shabu for dinner last night that I let her talk me into going for lunch again today (not that it was all that hard). She loves that place so much. Not surprising, as "buildyour Own" whatever seems to be a perennial favorite with her.

Doesn't she just look thrilled to be there?

My creation

Tomorrow we have an adventure, in addition to going back to schol / work. She's going togo to her first Brownies meeting! She's been asuing to join since she started going to Cedar Hill last summer, and we've finally found a troop that works with our already hectic schedule. It puts me up to three nights a week where I'm tied to having to haul her around somewhere right after school, which I'm not thrilled about, but hopefully she'll enjoy it.

So, anyone want to make a bet on how long the "happy to be back at work" will last?
