It's been a while

sierciaWidget's been sick, and clinging like mad. What is it about sick kids that makes them want Mommy and ONLY Mommy, anyway? She came down with it on New Year's Day, which explains her cranky mood on New Year's Eve, where we got to participate in the world's most expensive face painting, and bizarre puppet show. (More on that in a bit.)
Then, of course, on Sunday night, I started getting sick too. Nothing like rounding out a two week vaction with two days of being out sick. In good news, this means the trip to the NYT I've been dreading is pushed off a week. In bad news, I'm already down two sick days for the year. Whoops. Good thing I've got lots of vacation time.
Now I'm back at work, and I feel like I'm wandering around in a fog. I don't feel sick so much (thank the Dayquil gods for that), but I'm so tired my limbs don't really want to move, and my thought processes are slowed to about a quarter of their usual speed. I feel very stupid and slow, and it's not a great feeling. Oh well.
