A new adventure

Decided, kind of on a whim, that I would try taking the train to New York instead of flying. When I broke it down, it came out to only be about 45 minutes longer, even allowing myself a half hour lead time getting to the station. We'll see how it goes. I'm liking the idea of being able to sit in (relative) peace for three hours instead of having to wait in line, settle to wait, board the plane, sit for an hour, then hoof all over. Plus, Penn Station is all of a mile or so from where I'm going. We'll see.

But, I've got a taxi coming at 5:30 in the morning, I need to finish packing and getting to bed. Wish me luck with this trip. It has a LOT of suck potential.

Avoiding the airport 'security' thugs is reason in of itself to take the train...

it was my experience that taking the train to NYC( even if it was just a commuter rail and not a comfy as amtrak) was that it was A) cheaper and B) more on time and reliable. the only thing that was a pain was the 40 minute drive to get to the trian but it sure as hell beat getting stuck in traffic on a coach bus.hope you have fun and try not to kill anyone at the Times. =P
