So, the train ride down was delightful. Right on time, plenty of space to stretch out and work, plenty of time to relax and to focus on what I was coming down her to do. Lovely. I'm not sure I'll ever fly to New York again.
Got to the paper, met our new contact, and got to work within 15 minutes. Big improvement over the last time I was here. Got the software installed with no problems (also a big improvement over last time. Finished what I wanted to get done today by about 3:00. Since the next thing to do involved bogging the servers down, just in time for the Page 1 meeting, my guy decided that I might as well head out early. Almost makes up for the whole thing where suddenly I have to build a Merlin too while I'm here (these people with their machine building. It's enough to drive a person completely insane).
So, came back to the hotel, settled in, got in a good long workout and a really lovely loooong shower. Went shopping at Sephora, and then had the second best sushi of my entire life. God it was good. I could have eaten twice as much as I did without blinking, except for that whole thing where I'm really trying to stick to the diet again.
God it was good.
Now I'm relaxing. There is NOTHING on tv. Maybe I should get a movie, even if they are an obscene $13 here. I wonder if my company still pays for them.
Now I'm hoping against hope that the rest of my trip goes this well. Keep those good thoughts coming!
