Here I sit
Feb. 5th, 2004 03:23 amWaiting for the world's slowest SQL server to update an enormous table. So much for this only being a two hour ordeal. I'll be lucky if I get out of here by 5, I think. At least I don't have to be spazzed out about their production window approaching, I've still got 4 1/2 hours to go until that hits, thankfully.

Today (yesterday?) was beautiful. That magical day that always strikes in early February where the air warms up enough that you can go about without hat and mittens, and your coat unbuttoned. It isn't spring, and anyone who runs around saying that spring has arrived is a fool. But it is a reminder that winter won't last forever, and if you can be patient, it really will be spring soon enough. It always makes me happy, even though I know we're as likely as not to get smacked with 2 feet of snow three days later.
Today, in honor of it being one of those days, I wore my happy bright pink tennis shoes that I bought at the end of the summer last year and hadn't worn yet. They made me smile all day.
